We all know the famous theme song played on the keyboard for the office composed by Jay Ferguson. However there was going to be a different song not originally made for The Office. It was explained on the podcast office ladies the creator of the office and producer Greg Daniels OST his cast to help him pick a song for the theme song. The top three choices were Float On by Modest mouse, better things by The Kinks and Mr. Blue Sky by ELO. Mr. Blue Sky was chosen as the theme at first however Ferguson’s theme song that he made ultimately became the final product. Which is the song we now all know and love as The Office theme.
