Jennifer Fischer, who played Pam Beesly on the hit NBC show The Office, talked about the most expensive scene ever shot for the office ladies podcast with co-star Angela Kinsley.
Jenna revealed that the most expensive scene that was ever shot for the office was the gas station scene where Jim proposes to Pam. The location was so expensive that the gas station wasn’t natural; it was a fake built set. They create the Four Lane circular racetrack around the entire set. Then they had cars drive by to make it look like a real place. They also made sure the California mountains were not in the background and put fake trees in that you would see on the East Coast. This scene cost NBC $250,000 when the scene was only 52 seconds long.
