Many fans of the office don’t know this, but in 2008, there was a massive writer’s strike.  This all started when the organization The Writers Guild of America declared to strike on November 5th, 2008. They did this because the writers felt like they weren’t getting enough profits from the show. It wasn’t just affecting this show writers , but other shows on the air at this time. Steve Carell was in big support of the writers. He was a member of the organization, so that was probably why he joined the strike. Eventually, The Writers Guild won the strike, and everything went back to normal.
